THEMIS TABLE LAMP is an extension of the Themis series that utilizes a diamond shaped globe. There are a number of sconce and fixtures utilizing the same design language.

Creating the Form
The form for the Themis table lamp built off existing form within the Themis series, while utilizing the established form of the globe. The base took on previous geometric shapes used in Bec’s work to create continuity, while also making the table lamp look cohesive. The final table lamp will have a brass finish.

Sourcing and Fitting the Electronics
The stacked globe required a light that was able to distribute evenly throughout the length of the glass. This meant we’d need a tubular light that was at least 8 inches long for full light distribution, and less than 1in wide in order to fit through the opening at the bottom of the glass. Unfortunately, there were no tubular lights available on the market to fit our needs. Instead, we decided to move forward by creating a light using strip LED’s and a diffuser created out of frosted acrylic. The LEDs required a 6W light, which was then sourced to fit into the base of the fixture.
